Important notice:
The accreditation system in Germany was restructured. Since the 1st of January 2010 the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle DAkkS is the only national accreditation body, which grants accreditations according to Council Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 and the accreditation body law (AkkStelleG). It is lend on for that purpose in accordance with the Ordinance on the Entrustment of the Accreditation Body with Public Tasks under the Accreditation Body Act (AkkStelleGBV) and represents the german accreditation system on the european and international level.
Further informationen can be found on the DAkkS-homepage.

Validity of the accreditations:
All accreditations granted on the responsibilty of the DAR until the 31st of December 2009 retain their validity, if the accredited bodies are kept under survaillance without any objections.
According to §13 para 1 of the AkkStelleG the obligations for surveillance have been merged to the DAkkS.

Last decicions:
On his last conference in December 2009 the German Accreditation Council has decided that more information ...

The DAR office will be closed presumably by the end of the year 2010.
The remaining duties will be taken over by the office of the Accreditation Advisory Board at the BAM not later than that date.

Information concerning the DAR database:
In the DAR database there are only those accreditations registered, which were issued under the framework of the DAR system until the 31st of Decmeber 2009.
The records of these accreditations are continously updated in the DAR database until latest the 31st of December 2014.
Accreditations, which were issued later than the 1st of January 2010 by the national accreditation body DAkkS ( www.dakks.de ), are recorded in the database of the DAkkS: www.dakks.de/akkreditierte_stellen.
In course of re-accreditations the "old" DAR records are transfered by and by into the DAkkS database.
To avoid data loss during the search for accredited bodies it is strongly recommended to perform the search in both databases (DAR and DAkkS).
